I can't get my site up to a PR5 for anything. I can
bearly hold a PageRank of 2 with Google's new no-replicating links penalty. Any suggestions?

Honestly? Gain links from a number of websites with a higher PR rating than your current website. It will take time and patience (and yes, Google is figuring out how to tell if a link from a high PR website was purchased or not).

On another note, PR really isn't that important. Regardless of what your toolbar PageRank is, your site can still rank well in the search engines Wink - I have a few sites with a PR0 ranking #1 in Google for their top key terms.

It's true pretty much the only way to raise your PR is from high quality, high PR, relevant to your site inbound links.

The new rule nuked some of my older sites as well. I've
been working less on building link popularity and just been using other
technology. Have you tired grace domains or PDF generation? There is a
newsletter on it called SEOAdvanced. Not sure what their URL is but
its pretty good.

Can you explain this a bit more in detail? What is a grace domain? And what are you creating in PDF?

Hey everyone,

I received this PM about this post from one of our friends here at the forum...

Hope you are well. Concerning the post where someone mentioned Grace domains..

I've seen similar posts on other forums, maybe even word for word, and then a mod has come back and said it was the same IP and they were just spamming and trying to get signups for their overpriced newsletter.

Just thought I'd mention it... perhaps you could check to see if the two users that posted have the same IP.

Not accusing anyone of this just making it public so you can use caution!

Good catch Trent, considering it's the only post made by this poster...

Wow, maybe i am missing something. So many people are consumed with this PR obsession. I prefer to just concentrate on my inbound links, writing articles and posting in popular forums.

I really don't post much here as i have been trying to turbo charge my offline promotions on other projects.

I can only agree with the above statement.

Why are people always so obsessed with the google PR?

I would be more concerned about on site optimization to please any search engine and normally a linking strategy using articles, blogs, forums and so on, should probably be part of your weekly routine anyway.

Just take your time to submit decent articles and try to find a way to let other people contribute content to your site, perhaps through a message board or a forum like this one, that way your links count will grow, and your web site will grow.

Heck, even your PR will go up.

There is no easy way to get your site a high ranking. Here are few tips that may help out.

1) Target the right keywords. Target the wrong keyword phrases and your online business is destined to fail.

2) Don't use keywords or phrases that are too broad. The competition is too fierce, and research has shown that though you will get more traffic through general phrases, that traffic doesn't convert to sales. All of the traffic in the world will do you no good if it doesn't convert to sales!

3) Optimize your page content. Target each Web page to a different and highly focused keyword phrase. In other words, your main page should be optimized for one keyword phrase. Are the keywords used relative to the site's overall content? Do you use too many keywords, or too few?

Worrying about pagerank is silly. It's meaningless.

Amen. Have been preaching this for a long time. Google pagerank means nothing.
