strategies that will help to increase your traffic as well as sales:
1. "Bookmark This Web Site Now"
Tell your visitors to bookmark your web site. They may see your web site listed in their bookmarks and visit again. You should also give then a good reason to bookmark your site.
For example tell them you add new content everyday.
2. "Participate On Our Discussion Board"
Ask your visitors to participate on your online discussion board.
By participating they will meet other people. By meeting other people, they will revisit your web site on a regular basis to stay in contact with them.
3.Refer This Our Web Site To A Friend"
Ask your visitors to refer your web site to a friend(s).
They may know someone that would benefit from visiting your web site.
4. "Fill Out Our Online Survey"
Ask visitors to fill out your online survey or questionnaire. You could use it to get valuable feedback on ways to improve your web site to increase traffic.
5. "Enter Our Contests"
Ask your visitors to enter your online contest or sweepstakes.
People love to win stuff, and they will visit your web site to try. |

The Traffic Strategies you are trying, used to work in the past, but the internet market is changing and so the techniques you mentioned do not work as well.
1 Asking to Bookmark your website - some will do it, but most won't
Social Bookmarking or tagging is now what works, you can bookmark your own website with a description and also other websites you like.
2. Your own discussion board or forum. problem is, no members or very few and hard to get people to signup. Use the popular forums and put your website in the signature line.
3. Refer to a friend - unless you have a free ebook for them or something it doesn't work.
4. Online Survey - unless its a popular topic, people will ignore it.
5. Enter our contests - unless people trust you, a lot of the visitors will think its some kind of scam
Now what you need is backlinks for your website. Start a blog at blogger.com about your business or a lens at Squidoo.com
Search Engines like new fresh content and will reward you with traffic
