Understanding Web Graphics Optimising the Graphics on your site can lead to faster page loads and less strain on your webserver. Read this article to find out how you can optimise the graphics on your web site.

One you've created you web graphics and put them on the site, you must optimize them to reduce the time it takes them to load. Have you ever been to a site and it takes a minute, or even longer for the images to load. This is because whoever designed the website did not take into account the size of their graphics. You should try to keep your web images to 15KB tops. Remember, not everybody has a cable modem or DSL. Most of your potential customers will still be using 56K modems (and maybe you are too.)

A great website that I use to optomize my web graphics is GifWizard.Com. on the GifWizard site you can optimize your graphics, check your site for broken links and drastically shorten your load times. The GifWizard robot will also scan your site once a month, and send you a report on how your website's graphics stack up against the competition.

If you've never optimized your websites graphics before I strongly suggest trying out their service. If you don't optimize your graphics, you will have potential customers leaving your site before they get a chance to se your content and advertisements.
