Text advertisements are taking the place of banner advertisements, which used to be the most popular form of internet advertising when the internet first became popular until their effectiveness wore off and many people considered them to be a waste of money. Banners can still be effective with a plan and careful tracking of returns on your investment, but text advertising seems to be the way to go.

Getting attention is the key marketing strategy for your web site. Having your message read requires first that your ideas be seen. There are many ways to get exposure - buying it, earning it, or both. To earn attention, a long term focus is needed and this requires some knowledge and skill with a definite amount of resources. The results are seen quickly and may be more cost effective over time. If you purchase attention you might get seen even faster, but the results may be less satisfactory. Both methods use a complete web site marketing strategy.
