You must have seen advertisements for Data Entry Programs that make you believe that if you can cut and paste text from one box to another, then you can make money. They make it look like all you have to do is to type in a few lines of text and you will be paid a certain amount each time you type in data. This is totally misleading information and downright insulting to our intelligence, but still people everyday buy in to their deceit.
What these sites do not tell you in their sales hype is that you will be advertising on pay per click networks like Google adwords. The form you will be filling is an advertisement form. You do not earn anything for filling the form to submit your advertisement
You may earn a commission when someone purchases a product through your affiliate link but and here is the big catch “YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR YOUR ADVERTISMENT” – this means you may end up loosing more money than you earn.Their program teaches you to get an affiliate link from clickbank or similar affiliate network and to advertise that link on google adwords or similar pay per click network – clickbank and google adwords are free to join and are not connected with their program.
What they do not tell you is that you need to pay google for advertising the clickbank link on google adwords. You do not get paid for each form filled. You end up paying for each click on your advertisement, and there is a slim chance to make a profit as you will be competing with other expert affiliate marketers who have their own websites, email follow-up series and back end products.
It is possible to earn an income using their method, but it requires lot of experimentation, tracking, intelligence, and investment. It is not “Data Entry” it is “Affiliate Marketing” – It is not a job, it is a business that requires an investment, but if they told you this upfront you may not buy their program. So they make it look like you will get paid for entering data into forms. They make it look easy and free but it is not.
The good news is that any product purchased over the internet usually has a refund guarantee because they have to protect themselves from credit card chargebacks. So if you have purchased such a program you can ask for a refund on the grounds that their sales copy was misleading, and if you do not get a prompt refund then you can file a chargeback with your credit card company.
Eventually as buyers become smarter I feel that these kind of scams will be forced to disappear to make the internet a cleaner and safer place for all of us.
